Sump Pumps

I am thinking of installing a sump pump in my basement. Are there any special requirements for the electrical circuit? It's one circuit? GFI? Switch?

The sump pump should be on a separate circuit, gfci protection is not required, and not recommended, the gfci might trip and you might not notice that it tripped. Most sump pumps in basements have cord ends on them, so a switch isn't required, the cord end would serve as your disconnect.
